When developing the Grand Isle design, we had a few pots crack by the rim. Compressing that much clay sometimes causes cracking during the drying process. Here are a couple of seconds that had small cracks up top. The cracks are turned toward the back, so you can't even see them head-on; besides, who doesn't like a little character?

Materials: Stoneware & Walnut
Wipe with a dry, lint-free cloth for dusting. Periodically refresh wood by applying wood wax (Howard Feed-N-Wax) to maintain luster, then buff with clean, dry cloth.
